Job Description
Sodexo Corporate Services is a global leader in quality of life services, dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences through food service, facilities management, and integrated solutions. With a strong presence in corporate dining, healthcare, education, and other sectors, Sodexo partners with diverse clients to enhance everyday life and promote sustainable, inclusive growth. The organization values its employees by fostering a respectful, inclusive, and supportive work environment where diverse perspectives are encouraged and individual contributions are recognized. Sodexo is committed to equal employment opportunities and actively promotes diversity and inclusion across all levels of the company.
The Food Operations Manager 1 role at Sodexo is based at the Broadcom campus in San Jose, CA. This position is primarily scheduled Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional evenings and rare weekends, allowing for a balanced work-life integration. As an emerging leader, this role offers a unique opportunity to grow within a fast-paced corporate café environment, taking on a critical leadership function as the second-in-command on site. You will work closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring the delivery of a top-tier dining experience for breakfast and lunch services at a prominent corporate setting.
In this role, you are expected to be a hands-on manager who leads by example, engaging actively with the front-of-house team and the customers. Your leadership will be essential in mentoring a small team of three employees, fostering a culture of service excellence and hospitality that aligns with Sodexo’s high standards. Operational responsibilities include managing inventory, controlling costs, ordering supplies, ensuring accuracy in cash handling and point-of-sale operations, and upholding rigorous food safety, sanitation, and compliance standards. Additionally, you may support special projects and site initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the service environment.
The role demands strong organizational and multitasking skills, complemented by experience in food service operations, café environments, or corporate dining services. A passion for team development and outstanding customer service is crucial, as is knowledge in inventory management, food safety protocols, and sanitation practices. Sodexo offers a competitive compensation package tailored to the candidate’s education, experience, skills, and training, along with comprehensive benefits that support health, wellness, professional growth, and work-life balance. This position is ideal for motivated individuals seeking to advance their management career within a respected and socially responsible company.
