Discover why Cooper University Health Care is frequently recognized as the employer of choice in South Jersey by joining a team that is as ambitious about healthcare excellence as the community it serves.

This particular role within Cooper University Health Care operates across multiple essential food service stations, including the tray line, host/hostess station, cafeteria, deli, cashier, salad bar, and pizza station. The multifaceted position is designed to be dynamic and flexible, requiring the ability to serve as a runner responsible for restocking and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift. The successful candidate will have responsibility for ensuring that all food service stations are fully prepared for operations at the start of each shift, emphasizing accuracy, speed, and a strong sense of urgency to meet operational demands efficiently. Key responsibilities include setting up the next shift for success through thorough preparation and enforcing a strict 'clean as you go' policy which ensures that the environment remains sanitary and welcoming at all times. Hosts and hostesses have the critical task of verifying patient identity by requesting two patient identifiers — specifically their full name and date of birth — while also assisting patients with opening food items when necessary, demonstrating a patient-centered approach. Additionally, maintaining stocked condiment boxes and sanitation of patient delivery carts are ongoing duties that ensure a high standard of hygiene and service. Daily cleaning tasks are extensive and include starter stations, air-curtain refrigerators, host/hostess carts, ice cream freezers, the beverage center, and any other areas deemed necessary within patient services, all of which must be cleaned and sanitized meticulously. In retail areas, the consistent setup and breakdown of stations require cleaning, sanitizing, restocking, proper labeling, and temperature recording twice daily, supporting food safety and compliance standards.

The role requires adaptability as all staff members may be asked to perform additional duties or temporarily re-assigned to other work areas depending on business needs. Flexibility regarding break times is also a condition, with schedules subject to change to meet operational demands. This role offers an hourly wage between $16.50 and $25.00 and falls under an 'Other' employment type category, representing an opportunity for individuals seeking meaningful employment within a leading healthcare setting where teamwork, patient safety, and operational excellence are top priorities.
