Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food preparation or cooking
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production guidelines
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks such as lifting and prolonged standing
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a selection of foods based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Establish the work area with all the needed tools and ingredients
- Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items to prepare them for cooking
- Ensure the safe use of a variety of utensils, including knives
- Manage tools such as ovens, stovetops, cutting appliances, blenders, and similar items
- Apply various cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare ingredients
- Order, embellish, and allocate food as per established rules
- Store food in accordance with food safety regulations and procedures
- Clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service excellence and display a welcoming attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers
- Ensure strict adherence to Aramark's safety policies and procedures, particularly regarding precise food safety and sanitation standards
- Preserve the confidentiality of company belongings
