Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior cooking experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • willingness to comply with Aramark's safety policies
  • physical stamina for standing and manual tasks
  • food safety certification or willingness to obtain one

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook a selection of foods based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • establish the work area with all needed tools and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items to prepare them for cooking
  • ensure safe use of utensils including knives
  • manage tools such as ovens, stovetops, cutting appliances, and blenders
  • apply cooking techniques like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to ingredients
  • order, embellish, and allocate food as per established rules
  • store food according to food safety regulations
  • clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
  • maintain customer service excellence and display a welcoming attitude
  • adhere to safety policies and precise food safety and sanitation standards
  • preserve confidentiality of company belongings
