Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience in food preparation or related culinary work
- food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- basic math skills
- effective communication abilities
- physical capability to perform job duties including lifting and standing for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation and various cooking methods
- knowledge of food safety regulations including food handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- physical stamina for lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing and walking
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a selection of foods based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
- establish the work area with all the needed tools and ingredients
- measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items to prepare for cooking
- ensure the safe use of a variety of utensils including knives
- manage tools such as ovens, stovetops, cutting appliances, and blenders
- apply cooking techniques like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- order, embellish, and allocate food as per established rules
- store food according to food safety regulations and procedures
- clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
- maintain a strong focus on customer service excellence and display a welcoming attitude
- ensure strict adherence to safety policies and food safety and sanitation standards
- preserve the confidentiality of company belongings
