Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience preferred
- ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- basic math skills
- strong communication skills
- physical stamina to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing for long durations
- ability to work in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook a selection of foods based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
- establish the work area with all needed tools and ingredients
- measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items to prepare them for cooking
- ensure the safe use of utensils including knives
- manage tools such as ovens, stovetops, cutting appliances, and blenders
- apply cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- order, embellish, and allocate food as per established rules
- store food according to food safety regulations
- clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
- maintain customer service excellence and a welcoming attitude
- ensure strict adherence to safety policies especially food safety and sanitation
- preserve confidentiality of company belongings
