Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • food safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • basic math skills
  • strong communication skills
  • physical stamina to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing for long durations
  • ability to work in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a selection of foods based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • establish the work area with all needed tools and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items to prepare them for cooking
  • ensure the safe use of utensils including knives
  • manage tools such as ovens, stovetops, cutting appliances, and blenders
  • apply cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • order, embellish, and allocate food as per established rules
  • store food according to food safety regulations
  • clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
  • maintain customer service excellence and a welcoming attitude
  • ensure strict adherence to safety policies especially food safety and sanitation
  • preserve confidentiality of company belongings
