- validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
Job Duties
- prepare and cook a selection of foods based on production guidelines and standardized recipes
- establish the work area with all the needed tools and ingredients
- engage in measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling of food items to prepare them for cooking
- ensure the safe use of a variety of utensils, including knives
- manage tools such as ovens, stovetops, cutting appliances, blenders, and similar items
- apply various cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare a wide array of ingredients like meat and vegetables
- order, embellish, and allocate food as per established rules
- store food in accordance with food safety regulations and procedures
- clean and sterilize work environments, equipment, and tools
- maintain a strong focus on customer service excellence and display a welcoming attitude towards guests, customers, clients, and coworkers
- ensure strict adherence to Aramark's safety policies and procedures, particularly regarding precise food safety and sanitation standards
- preserve the confidentiality of company belongings
