The University of Hawaii at Manoa, in collaboration with Sodexo, seeks a Food Lead Worker to join its vibrant team under a full-time employment basis. The Food Lead Worker plays a critical role in day-to-day food service operations, supporting the preparation and serving of diverse menus while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both employees and customers. Offering a pay range of $8.00 to $28.40 per hour, this role demands flexibility with varying shifts and open availability preferred to meet the operational needs at university location.

As a Food Lead Worker, you will often oversee and coordinate the activities of food service employees at the client premises, working closely with on-site management and supervisors. Responsibilities extend beyond technical food preparation to include customer service excellence—ensuring satisfaction through quality, efficient service, and prompt problem resolution. Reliability and punctuality are essential as you are expected to attend scheduled shifts consistently. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience in food service or similar role
  • Ability to work varying shifts with open availability preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate team activities

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work under the direction of management and supervisors

Job Duties

  • May work in any type of food location on client premises and under the leadership of on-site management and or supervisors
  • Coordinates the activities of workers and or service employees engaged in food operations or services
  • Performs day-to-day assignments in addition to supervision duties
  • Works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution
  • Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements
