The Food Delivery Driver role at Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County is a vital position responsible for the transport and safe delivery of pre-prepared meals from the Westside Club to various other club locations within the county. Reporting to the Executive Chef, this role ensures timely delivery, proper handling, and maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the delivery vehicle and associated food dispensing equipment. The position offers up to 40 hours per week, paid at an hourly wage of $15, classified as a non-exempt role.

In this role, the driver not only delivers food but also engages positively with club staff, ensuring the accuracy of meal orders, assisting with kitchen support as directed, and backing food service at various catering events or food truck movements. Responsibilities include driving a 35-foot food truck and trailer to different event sites, setting up and breaking down food trailers efficiently and safely.

The role demands responsibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to following organizational policies and procedures. It also requires physical capability to handle lifting up to 50 pounds and flexibility to work different schedules and locations as per the fast-paced and dynamic environment of Boys & Girls Clubs operations. The role entails some travel for training and business purposes, emphasizing the need for a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children & Families
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and locations as required
  • Some travel may be required for training and/or business purposes

Job Duties

  • Loading, conveying, and delivering meals from West Club to various Clubs per schedule in a timely manner
  • Professional interaction with employees
  • Count and verify the food delivery order prior to leaving the kitchen
  • Assist with maintaining truck and food dispensing equipment
  • Delivering the food items using BGCSLC vehicle safely and efficiently
  • Reporting any Club concerns to the immediate supervisor
  • Collect empty containers from Clubs
  • Maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the BGCSLC vehicle
  • Assist with the cleanliness of the dining room, dishes, food truck, kitchen, and other workspaces at all times
  • Responsible for the removal of any debris, and trash from the kitchen and cafeteria
  • Make sure to use proper disposal of all debris/trash
  • Log transport details and process paperwork
  • Assist with daily food service in the kitchen as directed by the kitchen manager
  • Support staff on the food truck and catering events as needed
  • Drive 35 ft. food truck/trailer to various sites/events as scheduled
  • Responsible for hooking up and breaking down food trailer
  • Actively participate in mandatory Boys & Girls Club trainings and All Staff meetings
  • Occasionally may be required to work special events promoted by the organization during evenings and/or weekends
  • Completes any additional assignments as requested by the supervisor
