This position is a full-time role based at the Union Gap store, offering competitive pay in the range of $18.38 to $20.29 per hour. The role is designed for individuals interested in food category expertise within a fast-paced retail environment. The role’s primary purpose is to ensure operational excellence in all food-related areas within the store to maximize sales while reducing waste. As a Food Category Expert, the employee will be the primary point of contact for all food product inquiries and will train, coach, and support store associates in food execution, production, replenishment, ordering, sanitation, and customer service.

The Food Category Expert plays a key role in planning and executing food product sampling, conducting in-store training sessions for new foodservice programs, and leading refresher training to maintain high standards. The employee must ensure that all foodservice areas are well stocked, properly rotated using the First In First Out (FIFO) method, and presented according to the business unit’s planogram to ensure consistent branding and product availability. This role requires close collaboration with training personnel to continuously improve and deliver effective foodservice training programs.

Additionally, the Food Category Expert is responsible for monitoring shrinkage while focusing on improving sales to maximize profitability. They must ensure compliance with food safety standards and operate within budget expectations. The role requires excellent communication skills, a customer service orientation, and a detail-oriented approach to workplace organization and sanitization practices.
