Job Description

Circle K is a leading convenience store chain operating across North America, offering a wide range of products and services that cater to the everyday needs of its customers. With a strong presence in communities, Circle K focuses on delivering excellent customer service, quality products, and a convenient shopping experience. The company is committed to maintaining high standards in food safety, operational excellence, and associate training programs to ensure that every store runs efficiently and effectively. Located at 620 Central Avenue NE, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Store 2746468 operates as a full-time employment opportunity, providing a dynamic workplace for individuals passionate about retail and foodservice operations.

This role is centered on empowering the store team with expert knowledge and practical training related to food categories available within the store. As the Food Category Expert, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maximizing food sales while minimizing waste through the implementation of effective food operational execution. Responsibilities include training, teaching, and coaching store associates on various aspects such as food execution, production, replenishment, ordering, organization, sanitization, and delivering exceptional customer service. This position requires acting as the go-to person for all food-related inquiries from employees, ensuring that foodservice areas are meticulously stocked, rotated according to FIFO (First In, First Out) methods, and arranged according to current Planograms.

The role also involves planning and executing food sampling activities for employees and customers, conducting in-store training sessions for team members and operational teams on new foodservice programs, and providing refresher training as necessary to maintain high standards. Managing orders to reduce out-of-stock situations and shrink, monitoring food safety practices, and collaborating closely with Business Unit Quality Assurance Specialists (BUQAS) are integral parts of this position. The candidate is expected to conduct needs analysis based on BUQAS visits and recommend actions to improve foodservice operations while operating within budget constraints.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional education or instructional experience in retail training preferred. Supervisory or leadership experience is desirable to effectively guide and support the store team. Candidates should bring a minimum of two years of experience in fast-moving consumer goods retail or foodservice industry, showcasing skills in training, leadership, team building, collaboration, communication, and organization. Food Manager Certification, including recognized certifications like ServSafe and NRFSP, is required to ensure adherence to food safety standards.

Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role, with additional language skills in French considered a plus in Quebec locations. As a customer service-oriented position, the candidate must consistently meet deadlines, communicate effectively with customers, management, associates, and vendors, and contribute positively to the store's overall performance. The hiring salary range for this full-time position is between $17.00 and $20.00 per hour.

Circle K is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability laws. The company provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities during the application process. This inclusive policy ensures that all potential employees have the support needed to participate fully in the hiring process. Circle K participates in the federal E-Verify program to confirm work eligibility, ensuring compliance with employment laws. This role offers a comprehensive career path within a respected convenience store brand where dedication to foodservice excellence, customer satisfaction, and team development are prioritized.
