Committed to excellence in both cuisine and hospitality, Dining Services sees dining as a vital aspect of building community and fostering interpersonal connections within the spirit of Swarthmore. Their mission focuses on offering fresh, nutritious, and satisfying food daily, emphasizing the use of locally grown and produced ingredients whenever possible. The dining program aims to create an inclusive experience, working collaboratively with students and staff to accommodate diverse dietary needs and preferences.
The role within Swarthmore College Dining Services is integral to the smooth operation of the dining program. Each team member will be responsible for supporting food preparation, stocking, customer service, and cleaning functions to uphold the highest standards of food service and hospitality. Employees will contribute to maintaining a clean environment, ensuring timely meal service, and delivering outstanding customer interactions. This position demands a proactive and supportive team player who can work efficiently, both independently and collaboratively, to further the mission of Dining Services. The hourly pay for this role is $20.00, reflecting the College’s commitment to offering fair and competitive compensation.
Candidates will be expected to embody professionalism, respect, and a willingness to engage positively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, with potential shifts during daytime, evening, night, and weekend hours, as dining services operate seven days a week from 7:30 a.m. to midnight. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a values-driven institution and contribute meaningfully to creating a welcoming and nourishing community experience on campus. Swarthmore College is an Equal Opportunity Employer, actively seeking applicants who bring diverse perspectives and who are dedicated to advancing inclusivity in the workplace.
