We are currently seeking a Food & Nutrition Services Culinary Lead in the Lubbock area to uphold and extend our commitment to exceptional culinary standards in healthcare. This role is integral in managing and overseeing all culinary aspects of food service production, including daily meals, special events, catering, cafe, and lounge services. This leadership position requires a creative and meticulous culinary professional dedicated to delivering high-quality food characterized by excellent flavor, texture, color, temperature, and presentation. The role demands collaboration with clinical teams and the ability to plan and execute engaging food-related events that enhance the patient and visitor experience. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess strong supervisory skills to coach and lead culinary teams effectively while maintaining rigorous standards of food safety and service excellence. Job Requirements

  • Minimum of three years as a food services culinary professional
  • passionate about quality food, presentation, and service
  • demonstrable history of fun event planning and execution
  • strong supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • excellent customer service skills
  • excellent time management skills
  • experience in a similar position in a healthcare setting preferred but not required
  • fluent in English
  • willingness to learn
  • valid Food Handler's Card
  • must have flexible availability including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Oversee food services production in a healthcare setting with high-level menu items
  • manage all culinary aspects including flavor, texture, color, temperature, and presentation
  • plan and execute daily service and special events within the cafe, catering, and lounge
  • supervise, lead, and coach culinary staff
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • collaborate with dietitians and healthcare professionals to align meal services with patient needs
  • maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
