Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years of college education or one year retail experience and one year supervisory experience or two years general work experience and one year supervisory experience
  • ability to complete firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and authorized training if applicable
  • successful completion of all job-required trainings and assessments
  • willingness to promote company policies and ethics
  • availability at the specified job location
  • compliance with Walmart’s drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of college education
  • or one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience
  • or two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience
  • optional preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership
  • certificate in People and Business Leadership
  • experience supervising five or more direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing
  • successful completion of job-required trainings and assessments
  • ability to complete firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and authorized firearms training if applicable

Job Duties

  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates
  • tour stores and provide feedback using the Tour-to-Teach method
  • communicate and collaborate with associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction
  • model exceptional customer service standards following the One Best Way service model
  • manage and support customer service initiatives including community outreach programs
  • ensure successful resolution of customer needs, complaints, and issues
  • develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and improve processes
  • review and evaluate profit and loss statements to drive financial performance
  • assist in budgeting, forecasting, and control of expenses
  • monitor merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes
  • develop and implement plans to reduce shrink and achieve sales and profit goals
  • supervise and develop hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, and providing recognition
