The Food & Beverage Team Leader role at Target plays a critical part in ensuring a high standard of quality, service, and operations in the store's food and beverage departments. This position requires not only leadership skills but also deep knowledge of food safety, inventory management, pricing strategies, and promotional execution. The role involves overseeing daily departmental tasks to guarantee that all fresh products are available, accurately priced, well merchandised, and meet Target's quality standards. The Food & Beverage Team Leader is expected to provide excellent guest service and lead their team in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
This position offers a starting hourly pay ranging from $22.00 to $24.00, with a potential pay range up to $37.40 per hour, influenced by factors like labor market conditions, education, work experience, and certifications. The role is designed to foster meaningful leadership experiences, giving individuals the opportunity to develop their managerial capabilities through hands-on practice in planning workload, coaching, evaluating team performance, and driving sales goals. Typical responsibilities involve assigning daily tasks, conducting team huddles, supporting hiring and onboarding of new team members, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Moreover, the Food & Beverage Team Leader is expected to be flexible and adaptable, working variable schedules that include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times. The position demands physical stamina for tasks such as lifting merchandise, climbing ladders, and operating in refrigerated environments. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for success. The role also includes duties related to compliance with local, state, and federal laws, including alcohol regulations if applicable.
Overall, the Food & Beverage Team Leader position at Target is ideal for individuals who enjoy a fast-paced environment, take pride in delivering superior guest experiences, and are eager to lead and develop a team while contributing to the store's operational success and community reputation.
