The Food & Beverage Expert position within Target plays a crucial role in managing the store’s food and beverage departments. This position requires a passion for ensuring product quality, freshness, and availability, while providing a consistent and exceptional guest experience. The Food & Beverage team advances Target’s mission by maintaining inventory accuracy, executing food safety protocols, and overseeing product presentation and promotional processes. As an expert in food operations, this role involves leading the execution of replenishment, culling, rotation, pricing, signing, and merchandising to meet both business goals and customer satisfaction.

This team member will be well-versed in food safety standards and routinely follow federal, state, and local regulations, especially related to adult beverage laws. Emphasizing guest service, the Food & Beverage Expert actively interacts with customers to deliver helpful information about product storage, purchase timing, and quantities. The position demands the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to flexible scheduling needs including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping seasons.

Daily responsibilities include supporting the overall guest experience by ensuring the sales floor is well-stocked, orderly, and clean. This includes handling deliveries, maintaining accurate data, organizing reserves, and checking for recalled or expired products. The role also involves suggestive selling and product sampling to promote sales and deepen guest engagement. Employees in this position are also expected to demonstrate ethical conduct, maintain safety compliance, and support other guest service duties like order pickup and cashier backup as needed.
