The Food & Beverage Supervisor role at Oak View Group is a pivotal position within the organization, responsible for overseeing and managing the concessions, bar, and beverage outlets, alongside providing catering support. This supervisory role demands a commitment to maintaining high product quality, excellent customer service, and strict adherence to sanitation and alcohol service regulations. This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $21.00 to $24.00, reflecting the importance and responsibility inherent in the role.

In this capacity, the Food & Beverage Supervisor coordinates and oversees the planning and execution of all beverage services within the department. They assist in strategic event planning using historical data and trends to optimize operations. Key responsibilities include coaching staff on sanitation, alcohol awareness, and service standards, managing bartenders to prevent overpouring, ensuring quality control and bar safety, and adhering to sanitation protocols related to catering functions. This role also involves leadership responsibilities such as training and leading bartenders for event setup and execution and creating beverage-related signage, including specialty cocktails.

Additional duties encompass supporting retail concessions events, assisting in beverage supply orders, budgeting for labor and product costs, conducting monthly inventories, and overseeing staff in a way consistent with Oak View Group’s human resources policies. The role requires attending regular food and beverage planning meetings and supervising small teams during event preparation and production.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of retail sales and food service operations required
  • Bartending and banquet service skills
  • Ability to pass the ServeSafe food and beverage handling course
  • Ability to supervise staff in multiple locations within the building during events
  • Ability to set up, program, and operate a point of sale system
  • Good math skills necessary to perform production and inventory calculations
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
  • Frequent reaching and handling of products
  • Ability to access information and print on computer/terminal monitor
  • Daily lifting of heavy objects
  • Ability to operate a forklift

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and oversees the planning and execution of all beverage services within the Food & Beverage department
  • Assist in strategically planning for events utilizing historic records or similar event trends
  • Coach and maintain sanitation, alcohol awareness, and service standards
  • Supervise bartenders, watching for overpouring, quality control, and bar safety
  • Adheres to and monitors sanitation practices relative to Catering functions including Beverage Production and holding, dating and labeling
  • Responsible for leading small teams during event preparation and production in addition to training and leading bartenders for setup and events
  • Responsible for creation of beverage-related signage, including specialty cocktails or other specialty beverages
