Job Description
Prairie Band Casino & Resort is a premier entertainment and hospitality destination located in Mayetta, Kansas. The resort combines the excitement of a casino with the comforts of high-quality lodging and exceptional dining options. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to providing superior guest experiences, Prairie Band Casino & Resort is a significant employer in the region, offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package to its team members. With a strong focus on community and cultural heritage, the casino and resort emphasize supportive and inclusive work environments for all employees.
Prairie Band Casino & Resort is currently recruiting for a dynamic Food and Beverage Supervisor role. This position promises a $750 hiring bonus for new team members, plus a $50 gas gift card during the onboarding process — a clear indication of the resort's commitment to attracting high-caliber talent. The role offers a full suite of benefits, including medical insurance where the casino covers over 70% of premiums, dental insurance with 79% of premiums paid by the casino, as well as vision coverage. Moreover, Prairie Band Casino & Resort fully sponsors short-term and long-term disability, along with life insurance coverage of $15,000 for all team members. Additionally, employees enjoy a 50% employer match up to 6% on the 401(k) plan, profit-sharing bonuses distributed multiple times annually based on financial performance, holiday double pay, discounted fuel pricing at the resort's gas station, and a generous paid time off policy with up to 18 days earned within the first year.
The Food and Beverage Supervisor plays a crucial leadership role in the daily operations of the Steakhouse, EDR, Grill, Beverage, Bingo Snack Bar, and Buffet service areas during their assigned shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff across multiple food and beverage outlets, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and service quality. This includes direct supervision, training, coaching, and performance management of team members. The supervisor is also tasked with maintaining the appearance and uniform standards of the staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company policies, and managing operational budget elements such as cost control, inventory, and labor.
Beyond operational oversight, this role requires a proactive approach to guest satisfaction, with an emphasis on soliciting and acting on guest feedback to maintain the resort’s 100% satisfaction guarantee. The supervisor will also play a direct role in menu planning for the Grill, ensuring the offerings are both flavorful and economically viable. Analytical responsibilities are significant as well, including evaluating profit and loss statements and current operational data to inform management decisions and improve profitability. Other duties entail safety management, equipment maintenance oversight, as well as participating in cash transactions and filling in frontline roles as needed during Banquet functions or peak periods.
This position requires a hands-on leader who can function well both independently and as part of a team, with the capability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will have experience meeting professional appearance standards, understanding of state regulations regarding supervision in establishments serving alcohol, and a history of reliability and satisfactory performance in previous employment. Preference is given to candidates with a college degree or equivalent experience, alongside at least four years in the food and beverage industry including a minimum of one year in a leadership role within a multi-unit environment.
Prairie Band Casino & Resort values inclusion and diversity, including Indian Preference in hiring practices, demonstrating respect for cultural heritage while fostering an equitable workplace. Candidates should be prepared to undergo a thorough due diligence process including application review, testing, interviews, and background checks prior to employment. The role offers a rewarding career opportunity within a respected resort environment that supports professional growth, team collaboration, and guest-focused service excellence.
