ASM Global's portfolio boasts a wide range of venues that serve as key entertainment and community hubs across various markets. With a strong emphasis on creating memorable and seamless events, ASM Global employs a dedicated workforce motivated by collaboration, professional growth, and a passion for hospitality and event management.
The Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, is one of the venues managed by ASM Global. This multipurpose facility hosts a diverse array of events such as concerts, conferences, banquets, and other special gatherings. It holds a vital role within the local community and the greater region by providing a space designed to meet the needs of large- and small-scale events. The venue combines historic charm with modern amenities, offering guests exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere.
The Food & Beverage Supervisor position at the Shreveport Convention Center/Municipal Auditorium is a critical role responsible for overseeing the food and beverage operations within the facility. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Manager or Director of Food & Beverage, the supervisor ensures the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of all catering, concession, and banquet services. This position is hands-on and requires a leader who can manage a large team, uphold ASM Global policies, and deliver top-tier customer service.
Primary responsibilities include the recruitment, training, and supervision of over 100 F&B hourly staff members including captains, servers, bartenders, and concessions workers. The Food & Beverage Supervisor must ensure all staff adhere to proper procedures, safety standards, and cash handling protocols. Duties also involve inventory management, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment cleanliness and functionality, and ensuring compliance with all state and local health regulations.
The role demands outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The supervisor will have frequent interaction with clients, management, and event personnel to ensure service offerings meet or exceed expectations outlined in Banquet Event Orders and related contracts. Being proactive in addressing client requests and resolving issues is essential to achieving success in this role.
This position also requires flexibility to work irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as events demand. Physical stamina is necessary due to the nature of the job which may involve prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food and beverage management, catering experience, and familiarity with entertainment or public assembly venues.
Additional qualifications include the ability to pass background checks and drug screening, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and possession or the ability to obtain required certifications such as the Shreveport ABO Card, Louisiana Responsible Vendor Permit (LACT), and ServSafe certification. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and experience with ADP payroll systems are preferred.
Overall, ASM Global offers an engaging work environment where committed professionals can make a significant impact on the guest experience. The Food & Beverage Supervisor role presents the opportunity to lead an enthusiastic team within a dynamic and respected facility. Those passionate about hospitality, team leadership, and event success will find this opportunity rewarding and challenging.
