The Food & Beverage Supervisor role at Loretto is a dynamic position centered on leading and managing dining room service within the community. This supervisory role involves overseeing dining room staff to ensure the highest standards of hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and service are consistently met. The supervisor acts as a role model and coach, guiding team members to execute exemplary customer service and maintain a pleasant and organized dining environment. Key responsibilities include managing daily dining operations, handling financial transactions, resolving complaints with professionalism and care, and maintaining inventory and cleanliness standards. The role also requires collaboration between dining room and kitchen staff to foster teamwork and efficient service delivery.
This position demands a proactive leader who can coordinate staff schedules, promote service excellence, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards including local and state laws regarding food, beverage, and alcohol service. The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a pivotal role in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities and supports special events and projects, further enhancing the dining experience for residents and guests.
In terms of employment specifics, this is a part-time or full-time position with a competitive pay range of $22 to $23 per hour. The role requires working every other weekend as well as holidays and special events as assigned. Physical requirements include significant walking and standing, occasional sitting, and moderate lifting and pushing/pulling tasks necessary for dining room operations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma required
- 2-4 years relevant food service experience
- prior supervisory experience preferred
- knowledge of state and federal health and sanitation regulations
- competency in food service delivery
- ServeSafe certification preferred
- ability to deliver exemplary customer service
- strong attention to detail
- leadership and team management skills
- problem-solving ability
- excellent communication skills
- proficiency with MS Office
- physical ability to walk/stand 80 percent of the time

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 2-4 years experience in food service
- prior supervisory experience preferred

- competent in food service and delivery including portioning, presentation, and temperature

Job Duties
- Consistently provides an enjoyable dining experience and ambiance for residents and guests through exceptional service
- supervises the dining room staff to ensure proper service and acts as a role model to coach team members
- maintains high standards for food presentation and service
- receives and resolves complaints concerning food and service using patience and positive communication
- manages financial transactions including happy hour, employee meals, vouchers, cash transactions and billing
- serves as a liaison between dining room and kitchen staff promoting collaboration
- pays meticulous attention to dining room cleanliness, organization, layout, equipment, and safety
- completes daily inspections and weekly audits
- directs pre-meal meetings and communicates policy changes
- manages inventory of dining room items and ensures proper cleaning and storage
- helps update policy and procedure manuals
- confirms completion of opening and closing procedures and secures dining and kitchen areas
- ensures compliance with local and state laws and dining policies on food, beverage, and alcohol service
- follows special diets and provides special utensils as needed
- reports resident issues to nursing staff or management
- cross trains to cover other locations and dining rooms
- participates in Quality Assurance Performance Improvement activities
- assists with special events and projects
- performs other assignments as required
- works every other weekend, holidays and special events as assigned
