Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable hotel known for providing exceptional hospitality services with a strong focus on guest satisfaction and operational excellence. This hotel boasts multiple food and beverage outlets, including banquets, restaurants, and room service, each designed to deliver memorable dining experiences. The establishment prides itself on maintaining high standards in both service quality and food safety, ensuring that guests enjoy their stay with impeccable dining options and professional service. With a team-oriented culture and a vibrant atmosphere, the hotel seeks to foster a positive environment for both its guests and employees, creating a workplace where professionalism and courtesy are paramount.
The Food and Beverage Supervisor plays a pivotal role within this hotel by overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage department. This position is crucial in delivering high standards of service while maintaining operational efficiency across one or more dining outlets. The supervisor acts as the leader on the floor, directly supporting the management team to ensure that guests receive exceptional service at every touchpoint. Supervisory responsibilities include managing servers, bussers, bartenders, and other food and beverage staff during shifts to maintain seamless operations and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
This role also involves assisting with training and mentoring employees to uphold service standards, product knowledge, and guest engagement techniques. The Food and Beverage Supervisor ensures that staff are well-prepared to meet guests' needs, coach employees through real-time feedback, and monitor performance consistently. The supervisor’s presence on the floor is dynamic, sometimes assisting staff with serving, hosting, or bussing duties, especially during peak periods, to enhance team support and service delivery.
A significant part of the role involves handling guest interactions professionally, including greeting guests, promptly addressing complaints, and fulfilling special requests to guarantee guest satisfaction. The supervisor is also responsible for the setup, cleanliness, and organization of dining areas, barista stations, and service stations, ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health standards. Additionally, the role supports inventory control processes by assisting with ordering, restocking, and ensuring supplies are adequate to meet operational demands.
Financial duties are integral to this position, requiring the supervisor to process and verify guest transactions, such as cash, credit, and room charges accurately. They assist with balancing server checkouts, reconciling point-of-sale (POS) reports, and securing daily deposits, contributing to the department's financial integrity and accountability.
Overall, the Food and Beverage Supervisor must embody professionalism and foster a positive work environment. The position demands a flexible schedule, including availability for weekends, holidays, days, and nights, and requires physical stamina due to the demands of prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting. This role is ideal for candidates with at least two years of food and beverage experience, preferably in supervisory capacities, and with certifications in responsible alcohol service. The hotel offers a dynamic, engaging work environment where leadership and customer service excellence are highly valued, and where the Food and Beverage Supervisor can build a rewarding, career-enhancing role.
