The Pueblo of Pojoaque operates a vibrant hospitality and restaurant service environment, focusing on delivering exceptional dining experiences through its establishments. With an emphasis on high standards of customer service, the Pueblo manages multiple venues including dining rooms, bars, and kitchens, ensuring that both on-site and special events are executed with excellence. This role is designed for a dedicated Restaurant Assistant Manager who will primarily assist in the comprehensive management of the restaurants, including dining, bar, and kitchen operations, as well as special event coordination both on and off the property. The position may require the candidate to work at any other corporate site in a supervisory capacity, reflecting the dynamic nature of the Pueblo's hospitality services. Working closely with Food and Beverage management, the Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily team performance, coordinating projects, and ensuring that team members are well-trained in food safety and customer service standards. This role also demands an individual proficient in managing financial aspects such as reviewing operating statements and controlling expenses to maintain profitable margins. The Assistant Manager will be integral in enforcing food safety practices, handling customer requests efficiently, and managing inventory to control food waste, all while adhering to strict policies and regulations.

In addition to on-site responsibilities, the Assistant Manager will play a critical role in organizing and executing special events, including event set-ups and tear-downs, whether these take place on the Pueblo property or offsite. The position requires flexibility including potential travel between corporate entities using a personal vehicle, demonstrating the need for adaptability and a commitment to supporting Pueblo operations across locations. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • General knowledge of food preparation and presentation, and food handling safety practices
  • Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities
  • Must be people oriented and knowledgeable of customer relations practices
  • Good knowledge of supervisory, management, and decision-making techniques
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be licensed through the Pueblo of Pojoaque to serve alcohol
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years restaurant supervisory/management experience preferred
  • Must be licensed through the Pueblo of Pojoaque to serve alcohol

Job Duties

  • Oversees restaurant and bar operations
  • Reviews and monitors the performance of all team members
  • Coordinates daily projects with management
  • Ensures that team members are fully trained
  • Reviews operating and financial statements to maintain proper profit margins and control expenses
  • Ensures a safe environment for staff and customers
  • Ensures that all food handlers are properly trained in safety procedures and that food is inspected for proper temperatures
  • Meets or exceeds customer service standards in the areas of food quality, presentation, and service
  • Ensures that customer requests are handled promptly and effectively
  • Ensures that policies are enforced for utilizing food surplus and leftovers in order to control food waste
  • Ensures that policies are enforced for ordering, receiving, storing, and inventory of all food and non-food products
  • Enforces the Pueblo of Pojoaque liquor laws
  • Coordinates with Food and Beverage management on special events held on and off property
  • Responsible for event set up and tear down of events (on or off property)
  • Will assist in preliminary event planning
  • May use personal vehicle for travel between corporate entities as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
