Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a dynamic and high-volume food and beverage service establishment, likely situated within a casino environment. As a full-time position, this role involves a crucial leadership capacity overseeing daily operations of the Food and Beverage department that includes various service staff such as food servers, porters, bartenders, cocktail servers, and bar backs. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional guest service, emphasizing kindness, dignity, and respect to both guests and team members alike, which is fundamental in upholding the brand's vision and guest satisfaction goals.
The establishment is known for its vibrant, fast-paced environment that demands flexibility, professionalism, and a deep understanding of food and beverage operations. The supervisory role is pivotal in ensuring service standards are consistently met or exceeded across multiple food and beverage outlets including restaurants, lounges, beverage locations, banquet facilities, and the casino floor. This position does not offer bonus or commission but expects candidates with significant experience, ideally between 5 to 10 years in a high-volume beverage operation.
The role encompasses management responsibilities spanning from day-to-day operational oversight, implementing training programs, and maintaining service quality to building strong team morale through leadership by example. The candidate is expected to exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, customer service, and problem-solving abilities. An essential part of the job is maintaining high guest satisfaction by fostering relationships with guests through direct interaction and guiding team members to do the same.
Additional responsibilities include scheduling, payroll management, inventory control, ensuring compliance with alcohol service laws, and engaging in marketing efforts for the restaurant and casino food and beverage services. The position requires efficiency in controlling pour costs related to wine and spirits, conducting staff performance evaluations, handling disciplinary actions, and participating in company meetings and training.
The work environment is typically loud and bustling with constant high noise levels, typical of a casino or large hospitality venue. Adaptability to this setting, including the ability to interact with guests who may be engaged in gambling, drinking, eating, and smoking for extended periods, is vital. Physically, the job demands the ability to stand, walk, handle supplies, move heavy items, and work long hours on a busy floor.
To succeed in this role, the candidate must be capable of delivering top-tier service under pressure and flexible with work hours. They should also possess strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, demonstrate adept team management skills, and have the capacity to communicate effectively with senior leadership and front-of-house personnel. Certification in responsible beverage service (RBS) is mandatory within 60 days of employment in compliance with regulatory requirements.
