The role of Food and Beverage Supervisor is essential to ensuring daily operations of food and beverage outlets meet the rigorous standards expected in a competitive market. Key responsibilities include interviewing, selecting, and training associates, as well as scheduling and coaching to optimize operational performance. The supervisor actively monitors the quality of food and beverages served, ensuring consistency and adherence to guest specifications. Compliance with sanitation and safety protocols is a top priority to guarantee the wellbeing of guests and associates alike.

The Food and Beverage Supervisor also acts as a direct liaison with guests to capture feedback and address any service concerns promptly. During periods of high volume or staffing shortages, the supervisor steps in to perform service duties, maintaining high standards and seamless operations. Inventory control and ensuring proper par levels of supplies, such as linen, glassware, silverware, china, and condiments, fall within the scope of this role.

Furthermore, the supervisor enforces legal requirements surrounding alcohol service and oversees the condition and upkeep of equipment by reporting malfunctions and ensuring timely repairs. An additional responsibility is to adhere to sustainability goals in line with the company’s EarthView program, promoting environmentally friendly practices across all food and beverage operations.

This position involves significant physical activity including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds and is subject to varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. Candidates must possess a minimum of one year supervisory experience in a restaurant or banquet environment and be familiar with bar service and liquor inventory control. Experience with Micros point of sale systems is highly preferred.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of experience in supervisory role in a restaurant or banquet setting
  • Food service background at the server level
  • Knowledge of bar service and liquor inventory controls
  • Experience with Micros point of sales system strongly preferred
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch

Job Duties

  • Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates, ensuring they perform in accordance with established brand or hotel standards and consistent with core values
  • Monitor product quality and guest satisfaction in food and beverage outlets and services, ensuring food quality is consistent, appealing, and prepared to guest specifications
  • Ensure the restaurant and other food and beverage services comply with sanitation and safety standards for guests and associates
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on quality of service and food in outlet
  • Perform service functions during periods of high volume or staffing shortages
  • Assist with maintaining proper par levels and inventories of food and beverage supplies such as linen, glassware, silverware, china, condiments
  • Ensure staff abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Ensure all equipment is in working order
  • report malfunctions and follow up on repairs
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to EarthView program
  • Practice safe work habits wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
