The role of Food & Beverage Steward at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, is pivotal in maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of the kitchen and dining areas. This position is essential in supporting the culinary team by ensuring all kitchen tools, equipment, and guest-serving items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to stringent health and safety standards. Food & Beverage Stewards operate in a fast-paced and often high-energy environment, either indoors or outdoors, and must be able to adapt to the varying demands that come with working in a large resort setting.
As a Food & Beverage Steward, you will be responsible for handling large dish machines, manually scraping and scrubbing dishware, pots, and pans, and restocking cleaned items in their designated locations to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Stewards also play a key role in maintaining kitchen cleanliness through sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring waste and recyclables are properly disposed of. This role requires vigilance in monitoring water cleanliness in dish machines and adhering to HACCP and sanitation procedures to guarantee a safe food environment for both guests and staff.

Job Requirements
- Able to do heavy lifting of pots/pans and trays, up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull heavy carts
- Able to work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces
- Understanding principles of proper sanitation
- Has strong listening skills
- Self motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team
Job Qualifications

- Previous leadership experience
- Previous cleaning experience in fast paced environment or hotel or banquet area
- Some knowledge/experience working with large kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of Hawaiian/Japanese language preferred
- Full availability for any shift, seven days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred
Job Duties
- Responsible for working with large dish machines when loading and unloading dishware, glassware and silverware
- Responsible for manually scraping plates, utensils and other dishware used in restaurants prior to loading in dishwashing machines
- Responsible for manually scrubbing large pots and pans at a pot sink
- Sort pots, pans, dishes, glassware, flatware and utensils and restock into designated locations for restaurant use
- Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of the area by sweeping, mopping and scrubbing kitchen floors, coolers and freezers and washing and replacing all trash cans
- Responsible for emptying trash and recyclables appropriately
- May clean kitchen counters and walls
- May polish items such as silver and flatware
- Monitor water cleanliness in the pot sink and in the dish machines
- Performs deep cleaning according to deep cleaning schedule or as needed
- Follow proper sanitation and HACCP procedures
- Responsible for ensuring chemical storage areas are neat and orderly
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of back dock area which may include pressure washing
