The role of a Food & Beverage Expert at Target is designed to develop valuable skills in guest service, food and beverage business fundamentals, and merchandising. This position offers hourly pay starting at $18.75 USD and opens the door to a career with extensive training and opportunities to grow within the company. As a Food & Beverage Expert, team members are responsible for upholding food safety standards and performing critical tasks such as replenishment, inventory management, rotation of products, cleaning, signing, and maintaining backstock. They engage with guests authentically to provide helpful information on product selection, storage tips, and buying in appropriate quantities. The position also involves collaboration with Direct Store Delivery distributors to manage displays and backroom space, ensuring shelves remain stocked with fresh and accurately priced items. This role demands a hands-on approach in a fast-paced environment where no two days are alike. Food & Beverage Experts must consistently deliver outstanding guest experiences, understand the impacts of operational procedures on shortages and profitability, and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations concerning adult beverage sales and food safety. They are responsible for recognizing and addressing product quality issues, including damaged, recalled, or expired items, and promoting products through sampling and suggestive selling techniques to increase sales. Beyond operational duties, team members create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests genuinely, observing their needs to tailor assistance, and thanking them for choosing Target. The ideal candidate thrives in a fun, energetic environment, values teamwork, and is passionate about providing excellent service that makes guests say "I LOVE TARGET!" While previous food or grocery experience is preferred, it is not required. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Previous food or grocery experience preferred but not required
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and other team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
  • Work both independently and with a team
  • Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
  • Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
  • Climb up and down ladders
  • Scan handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds
  • Flexible work schedule e.g. nights weekends and holidays reliable and prompt attendance necessary
  • Ability to work in an environment that could range from 34°F to -10°F as needed
  • Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be handled or present
  • Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures humidity and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up carryout etc.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift shift length may vary
