The Food & Beverage team at Target is a vital part of the retail environment, ensuring that guests receive consistent and high-quality service in the food departments. This team is responsible for managing stock levels, food safety, pricing accuracy, and the overall presentation of food items to create an inviting shopping experience. As a Food & Beverage Expert, you will be entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining fresh and full product displays, adhering strictly to food safety regulations, and delivering superior customer service. The role involves managing the food floor, replenishing inventory, ensuring merchandise is signed and organized, and working collaboratively with vendors and fellow team members. You will develop expertise in food and beverage trends, inventory accuracy, and merchandising, contributing to the success of the store while gaining valuable skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. Additional duties include supporting guest services functions like cashier backup and order pick-up, all while upholding compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to food and beverage sales.

Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- climb up and down ladders
- scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds
- flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays) reliable and prompt attendance necessary
- ability to work in an environment that could range from 34°F to -10°F as needed
- ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be handled or present
- capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties including but not limited to Drive-Up, carryout, etc.
- ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary)
Job Qualifications
- Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required
- welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
- ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed
- work both independently and with a team
- resolve guest questions quickly
- attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
- capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes
Job Duties
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and full shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task
- uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards
- execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing and organizing and storing reserve product
- follow all food safety requirements as outlined in Target’s policies and procedures
- use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales
- work with vendors to proactively set, maintain and make planned changes to salesfloor merchandise displays and to keep organized backroom space
- locate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to Target’s policies and procedures
