This particular role is based in Houston, Texas, at the JW Marriott, part of Marriott's luxury brand portfolio. The position is full-time and non-management, located onsite at 1777 Walker Street. The role focuses on supporting the sales and marketing efforts of the hotel, particularly through the preparation and management of sales documents, promotional activities, and customer engagement. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the hotel’s brand recognition both internally and externally, maximizing revenue opportunities while maintaining high guest loyalty and satisfaction. The position involves coordinating various sales materials, executing marketing programs, managing social media initiatives, and assisting with food and beverage events alongside the room service department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders, which are essential components of the sales process. They will also gather marketing materials such as brochures and promotional packages to support the sales team and management. In addition to administrative tasks like filing, emailing, and document preparation, the role requires strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients via phone and email, managing inquiries about hotel amenities, rates, and special events.
Furthermore, this position involves close collaboration with management to implement revenue strategies, including promotional beverage programs and social media marketing campaigns. Candidates will be tasked with entering and reconciling data in sales software to track commissions and sales opportunities accurately. Physically, the role requires the ability to handle light physical tasks such as moving objects up to 10 pounds and standing or walking for extended periods. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year related experience
- No supervisory experience required
- No license or certification required
- Ability to communicate in Spanish and English preferred
- Ability to work full-time on-site
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods
- Capacity to move objects up to 10 pounds without assistance

Job Duties
- Prepare sales-related documents through the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, banquet event orders)
- Promote brand image recognition inside and outside the company
- Gather materials and prepare information packets (e.g., brochures, promotional materials)
- Use sales techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty
- Assist management team in developing, implementing, and executing revenue and marketing programs for all outlets and room service
- Develop, coordinate, and implement social media initiatives and beverage promotion programs
- Enter, retrieve, reconcile, and verify information (e.g., commissions, opportunities, third parties) in sales software
- Respond to inquiries about property facilities or services (e.g., hours of operation, rates, room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants, special events)
- Serve as point of contact for customers, communicating via phone and email to answer questions and requests
- Coordinate event reservation confirmations for special and holiday events for groups of six or more in the restaurant
- Coordinate food and beverage sales in hospitality suites through the room service department
- Perform general office tasks to support Champions and Room Service (e.g., filing, emailing, typing, faxing, copying)
- Communicate accidents, injuries, and hazardous work conditions to management
- Comply with company policies and procedures, ensure professional personal appearance, maintain company information privacy, and protect company property
