Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its diverse portfolio of distinguished hotel brands, including the prestigious JW Marriott luxury hotels. Located at 1777 Walker St, Houston, Texas, JW Marriott Houston offers an exceptional environment that blends luxury, comfort, and world-class service. As part of Marriott International's luxury portfolio, JW Marriott properties are committed to providing guests with memorable experiences, exceptional amenities, and thoughtful service. The brand emphasizes a culture that values its associates deeply, with a unique approach called The JW Treatment™, focusing on holistic well-being, career development, and recognition. JW Marriott Houston is a vibrant part of this legacy, situated in one of America's most dynamic cities and serving a diverse client base ranging from business travelers to leisure guests.
The available position is a full-time, non-management role within the Sales & Marketing category. The role is fundamental to supporting sales operations and enhancing brand visibility both internally and externally. A key responsibility is preparing sales-related documents including proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders during the sales process, ensuring accurate communication and seamless transactions. Additionally, the role involves promoting Marriott's brand to maximize awareness and loyalty among both existing and potential guests.
This Sales Support position also requires assembling promotional materials and information packages to aid the sales team and help attract new business. Maintaining and updating software records related to commissions, leads, and third-party partnerships is essential to supporting operational efficiency. The incumbent will serve as a pivotal point of contact for clients, fielding questions via phone and email, and coordinating reservation confirmations for special events of six or more guests – particularly dining and hospitality suites managed through Room Service.
The role demands multitasking and administrative support activities such as filing, typing, faxing, and copying, supporting the Champions and Room Service departments. The employee will collaborate with management to develop and implement revenue, marketing, and beverage promotional programs, integrating social media initiatives to broaden outreach and improve engagement.
In addition to administrative and client interaction duties, the role is focused on upholding company policies, ensuring personal professional appearance, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company assets. Excellent guest service is paramount, including greeting guests warmly and anticipating their service needs with genuine appreciation. The position values teamwork, clear communication, and adherence to quality assurance standards. Physical demands include handling objects up to 10 pounds and the ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where the unique backgrounds of associates are celebrated. The company strictly prohibits discrimination and is committed to providing access and opportunity to all individuals regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected basis by law. Working for JW Marriott means joining a community of talented and diverse co-workers committed to greatness in hospitality, with numerous opportunities for professional growth and the best possible work environment.
