This position offers a full-time, non-management opportunity within the Sales & Marketing category at the JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America. The role involves supporting the hotel’s sales team by managing essential administrative sales tasks such as preparing sales-related documents including proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders. The successful candidate will be instrumental in promoting the Marriott brand internally and externally, ensuring consistency in brand image and client engagement. This role requires meticulous attention to detail as the associate will gather promotional materials and assemble comprehensive information packages tailored to clients’ needs. The role demands strong customer service skills as it involves direct communication with guests and clients, answering inquiries about hotel facilities, services, promotions, and special events.
Additionally, the position supports marketing initiatives by coordinating social media campaigns and beverage promotional programs, aiming to boost revenue and guest loyalty across food and beverage services. The candidate will assist management in developing and executing sales and marketing programs across all outlets including room service. Task management also includes entering and reconciling data related to commissions, leads, third parties, and more through the hotel’s sales software systems. Important customer-facing responsibilities include coordinating reservation confirmations for special and holiday events and serving as the key contact for clients by phone and email.
This role also supports operational excellence by performing various office duties like filing, emailing, typing, faxing, and copying to support the Champions and Room Service teams. The role requires adherence to company policies, maintaining a professional appearance, and safeguarding proprietary information. JW Marriott places a premium on safety; thus, reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions is essential. Associates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a team-oriented approach. The work environment involves both desk and physical tasks requiring standing, sitting, walking for extended periods, and handling light lifting. The position is hourly with a pay range between $19.74 and $20.35 and is tip eligible.
