Job Description
The JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is a premier luxury hotel located in Bloomington, Minnesota. Situated near one of the largest shopping and entertainment complexes in the United States, the Mall of America, this hotel offers exceptional service and hospitality to guests from around the world. As part of the globally recognized Marriott International brand, the hotel prides itself on delivering an outstanding guest experience through a commitment to quality, innovation, and community engagement. The JW Marriott Minneapolis blends elegance and comfort with modern amenities, catering to business travelers, families, and leisure guests alike. The hotel features beautifully designed rooms, multiple dining options, meeting and event spaces, as well as wellness and recreational facilities, making it a distinguished destination within the Minneapolis metropolitan area.
This sales and marketing role at JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America is a full-time, non-management position offering an hourly wage ranging from $19.74 to $20.35, including tip eligibility. The role is designed to support the hotel's revenue generation and marketing efforts across multiple departments, including banquet services, outlets, and room service. Candidates will be responsible for the preparation and management of sales-related documents such as proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness throughout the sales process.
In this position, promoting the Marriott brand internally and externally is crucial. The role requires gathering and assembling informational packages, including brochures and promotional materials, to support marketing initiatives. Emphasis is placed on maximizing revenue through effective sales techniques while fostering guest loyalty and satisfaction. Support for social media campaigns and beverage promotional programs is also key, requiring coordination and creative input to enhance customer engagement and increase sales.
The function involves meticulous data management, including entering, retrieving, reconciling, and verifying sales information such as commissions and leads using company software. Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, the employee will handle communications via phone and email, responding to inquiries about property facilities, special events, packages, and more. Coordination of reservation confirmations for special or large group events, especially in the restaurant and beverage services, forms an integral part of the job.
Beyond sales and marketing, the role entails general administrative duties to support the Champions and Room Service teams, including filing, typing, faxing, and maintaining records. Collaboration with management on developing, implementing, and executing revenue and marketing programs is expected to ensure alignment with the hotel's business strategy.
The job also demands a strong commitment to company policies, maintaining professionalism in appearance and conduct, ensuring confidentiality of proprietary information, and safeguarding company assets. Providing excellent customer service by welcoming guests according to Marriott standards and addressing their needs with genuine appreciation is emphasized. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is essential for success, along with the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and support team efforts.
Physical demands include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform light lifting and carrying tasks. Safety and adherence to quality assurance standards are priorities, with a requirement to report any accidents or unsafe conditions promptly. Overall, this role offers a dynamic opportunity for individuals seeking to contribute to a globally respected hospitality brand, develop valuable sales and marketing skills, and be part of a collaborative team environment.
