The Food & Beverage Runner role at Fishers Event Center, a part of the Legends Global network, is a part-time, hourly non-exempt position reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager. This role is vital in supporting catering operations through assisting with setup, service, and breakdown associated with event food and beverage delivery. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and courteous service in delivering food and beverage orders directly to suites and other event spaces. Duties involve assisting in the placement and delivery of suite orders, breakdown of food items and service equipment post-event, logging beverage stock, and managing waste disposal by collecting cardboard and trash after events. Furthermore, the Food & Beverage Runner will support pre-stocking of suites and help set up and break down catering spaces as directed by management. This role demands excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions in fast-paced live event settings. It also requires physical capabilities including lifting, stooping, standing for long periods, and moving items like kegs weighing up to 170 lbs. Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Indiana Server Liquor License and certificate of completion of Indiana Excise training courses
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of catering equipment, services, and terminology
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
  • Physical ability to perform lifting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods
  • Ability to move and transport kegs weighing up to 170 lbs
  • Willingness to work indoor and outdoor events
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Indiana Server Liquor License and certificate of completion of Indiana Excise training courses
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Must have knowledge of catering equipment, services, and terminology
  • Ability to take and follow directions, sometimes working independently
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively

Job Duties

  • Provides friendly, courteous customer service
  • Ensures the timely setup and delivery of all suite food and beverage orders
  • Delivers and assists in the placement of all event day food and beverage suite orders with the Suite Pantry and ensures timely delivery of such items
  • Assists with the breakdown of food items and service equipment in the suites and other catering areas after the event
  • Assists with the logging of all suites’ beverage stock in the appropriate logbooks after each event
  • Collects cardboard and trash at the end of each event
  • Assists with any pre-stocking for the suites
  • Assists with the setup and breakdown of catering spaces as directed by management
  • Follows all event-service directions as directed in the pre-function meeting
  • May perform other duties as assigned
