The company operates an extensive portfolio that includes water- and land-based experiences as well as ferry and transportation services across multiple countries. As part of its diverse offerings, Hornblower Group's premier experience division, City Experiences, delivers memorable dining and sightseeing cruises, as well as guided walking and food tours under respected brands like City Cruises, Walks, and Devour. In addition, the Ferry and Transportation Division, under the City Ferry brand, stands as the largest private operator of high-speed passenger and vehicle ferries in the United States, serving over 10 million passengers annually with services including NYC Ferry, Puerto Rico Ferry, and other regional ferry systems.
Hornblower Group also encompasses subsidiaries such as Hornblower Marine, which specializes in vessel outhaul and maintenance services in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Seaward Services, Inc., a comprehensive shipping, waterfront logistics, and management company that handles government and commercial vessels. Furthermore, Anchor Operating System, LLC, an independent entity within the Hornblower Group, provides advanced reservation, ticketing, and website integration services tailored to the transportation, tourism, and entertainment industries. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, the expansive corporate footprint of Hornblower Group reaches multiple major cities including San Francisco, Boston, Chicago, London, New York, Dublin, and locations across Ontario, Canada. The company prides itself on serving more than 20 million guests annually across over 10 countries and more than 50 U.S. cities, underscoring its position as a leader in the experience and transportation market.
The role of a Prep Cook at Hornblower Group offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with a vibrant culinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional food experiences during the company’s various events and cruises. As a Prep Cook, the primary responsibilities include preparing ingredients by peeling, chopping, cutting, and plating food items efficiently and with meticulous attention to detail to ensure buffet presentations meet high standards. Working closely with the culinary team, the Prep Cook also assists in managing deliveries, ensuring that all food products are stored correctly following guidelines, and maintaining a safe, sanitary workspace throughout shifts. A key aspect of this position involves upholding the company’s stringent safety and sanitation standards in the galley to guarantee the health and satisfaction of all guests and staff.
This entry-level culinary position is ideal for individuals passionate about learning foundational cooking skills and progressing within the food service and hospitality industry. The role fosters a collaborative environment where the Prep Cook collaborates with chefs and kitchen staff, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and insight into the operations of a large-scale food preparation team. The company encourages growth and offers opportunities for professional development and advancement into more specialized culinary roles. Overall, this position combines the excitement of working within a leading global company known for its customer-centric approach with the chance to build a rewarding career in culinary arts within an internationally respected organization.
