The Food & Beverage Manager at The Reserve Club at Woodside holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire spectrum of food and beverage operations. Key responsibilities include managing financial performance, staff development, and service quality. The Food & Beverage Manager directs dining outlets, lounges, banquet events, and beverage programs to provide seamless and enjoyable experiences for club members and guests. They develop operating procedures and service standards while cultivating a positive work environment through leadership, coaching, and team development initiatives. Collaboration with club leadership is essential to enhance member experiences and support seamless event execution.

Financial stewardship is a major component of this role, involving the development and management of budgets, monitoring labor and food costs, overseeing inventory and purchasing, as well as ensuring compliance with cash handling and internal control procedures. The manager also partners with culinary professionals to design menus, pricing strategies, and maintain food presentation standards. Beverage operations, including alcoholic beverage management and compliance with South Carolina regulations, fall under the manager's oversight.

Member relations and club event management are key facets, with responsibilities extending to building strong member relationships, responding to feedback, and working with membership and events teams to ensure successful functions including tournaments, weddings, and special occasions. Emphasis on cleanliness, ambiance, and presentation in all food and beverage areas is maintained at high standards.

This position operates in a fast-paced, multifaceted hospitality environment, involving dining rooms, banquet facilities, kitchens, bars, and outdoor spaces. Flexibility in schedule is required as the role demands availability during evenings, weekends, holidays, and club events. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience required
  • Private club or country club experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, banquet service, and beverage management
  • Proven experience managing budgets, labor, and inventory controls
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Direct and oversee all food and beverage operations including dining outlets, lounges, banquet events, beverage programs, and special club functions
  • Ensure exceptional member and guest service standards are consistently maintained
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures and service standards for all food and beverage areas
  • Lead, coach, and develop department managers, supervisors, and hourly team members
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with Club leadership to enhance the overall member experience
