Kampgrounds Enterprises, Inc is a distinguished third-generation family business that has been a significant player in the Outdoor Hospitality sector for many years. The company has a rich heritage of owning and operating award-winning campgrounds and aims to be recognized as one of the premier campground operators across the United States. Kampgrounds Enterprises is committed to delivering exceptional customer service and offering families a unique chance to create lasting memories around the campfire. With a strong emphasis on quality, hospitality, and guest satisfaction, Kampgrounds Enterprises has built a robust reputation as a trusted name in the industry.
One of the company’s flagship properties is the Temecula KOA at Vail Lake Resort, situated in the picturesque region of Southern California. This outdoor campground destination is nestled among a stunning grove of oak trees, providing a serene natural atmosphere for guests. The park is open year-round, offering camping experiences close to the famous Temecula wine country, the tranquil Vail Lake, and an extensive network of mountain biking, horse-riding, and hiking trails. The property boasts over 400 RV sites and 26 units of accommodations, continually undergoing renovation to enhance guest experiences. The team at Temecula KOA is dedicated to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment with excellent amenities and opportunities that allow families and visitors to forge unforgettable memories.
This full-time role offers an hourly wage starting at $25, depending on experience, and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule with availability to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday), with working hours between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., adjusted to meet departmental needs. The role involves working alongside the General Manager for overlapping shifts at least one day a week and entails a blend of overseeing onsite activities and events, as well as planning and administrative responsibilities during the week.
The responsibilities of this position are diverse and dynamic, stretching from hands-on leadership and staff management to direct involvement in event planning and food service operations within the campground. Administrative duties include attending weekly Department Head meetings, individual consultations with the General Manager, and effective communication of project plans and policy updates to teams. The role encompasses management of scheduling, timesheet approvals, and training facilitation for the department. A key aspect is the supervision of food and beverage services, requiring menu planning for various meals, adherence to state health regulations, proper food handling, supply ordering, inventory management, and forging relationships with third-party vendors.
Further leadership responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, orienting, and training staff, ensuring compliance with necessary certifications like TIPS and Food Handler’s training, conducting employee performance reviews, and handling disciplinary actions when necessary. The role demands proactive customer service recovery, professional communication, and strict adherence to company purchasing policies. The successful candidate will be expected to occasionally cover shifts within food service and bar departments and must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both guests and staff.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and outdoor recreation, seeking to contribute positively to the operations of a leading campground resort that values tradition, quality service, and memorable guest experiences.
