Job Description
San Manuel is one of the largest private employers in the Inland Empire and is deeply committed to the growth, future, and well-being of its employees. The company operates within a diverse and dynamic hospitality environment. Its flagship property, Yaamava Resort & Casino, offers a vast range of amenities including multiple bars and restaurants, which cater to a wide variety of guests and patrons. San Manuel emphasizes quality service, operational excellence, and brand standards to ensure that guests have memorable, enjoyable experiences. Their focus is on creating a welcoming yet efficient atmosphere where customer satisfaction is paramount. This commitment extends across every facet of their operations, making them a leader in the hospitality and entertainment industry in their region.
The Manager, Food & Beverage at Yaamava Resort & Casino is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall operation and profitability of assigned venues, including all bars and restaurants within the resort. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Food & Beverage, the role demands a proactive individual skilled in team development, financial management, and operational excellence. With a clear focus on achieving financial and enterprise objectives, the Manager will lead efforts to maintain high-quality customer service, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and oversee inventory control for equipment and supplies. This includes not only managing day-to-day venue operations but also administering accurate sales, inventory, and personnel reports, which play an essential role in strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
A core responsibility is developing and maintaining well-performing teams who exemplify Yaamava’s brand standards. This involves implementing effective training programs to promote product knowledge and service excellence, monitoring customer satisfaction levels, and resolving any complaints swiftly and professionally. The Manager will collaborate closely with venue chefs to control food costs and ensure menu offerings remain attractive and profitable. The role also requires overseeing the cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of venues and equipment, safeguarding that all regulatory codes are strictly followed.
Supervisory duties are integral to the role, encompassing employee interview, hiring, training, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions. Designing individual development plans and succession planning are also part of the leadership responsibilities, ensuring a pipeline of talent capable of meeting future organizational needs. Candidates for this position should have a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service, Business, or a related field, alongside at least three years of relevant hospitality experience, including supervisory roles. Bar experience is highly preferred, given the extensive bar operations within the resort.
The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and strong leadership capabilities, particularly in team motivation, managing change, effective communication, and prioritization in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Additionally, legal compliance, confidentiality, and clear communication skills are vital to success. Certification requirements include Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) and ServSafe, and a gaming license may be required based on the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission. Physical demands include the ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, within a climate-controlled casino and resort environment. Strength, mobility, and endurance to perform required tasks are necessary. This role offers a unique leadership opportunity for hospitality professionals keen on contributing to a reputable and rapidly growing resort casino setting while advancing their careers in the food and beverage management field.
