The Food & Beverage Manager on Duty (F&B MOD) is a pivotal leadership role within Vitense Golfland, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage department. This includes key service points such as Babes at Vitense Restaurant, Caddysnacks, Odie’s Bar, and the Golf Range. The position offers flexible employment options, allowing for both full-time (minimum 32 hours per week) and part-time schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The starting wage ranges from $23 to $27 per hour, commensurate with experience.

As the F&B Manager on Duty, you will play a critical role in ensuring that each guest receives exceptional service while maintaining smooth operational efficiency across multiple venues. This role requires a hands-on leader who excels at coaching team members, managing staffing needs, and upholding high standards for food and beverage quality. You will act as a key decision-maker during shifts, addressing challenges in real time, troubleshooting POS system issues, and ensuring accurate menu knowledge among staff.

This position is central to shaping the overall guest experience and fostering a positive team culture. The manager is expected to lead by example, assist with opening and closing duties, and support cash handling procedures to maintain financial accuracy. Handling guest concerns promptly and professionally is also a crucial aspect of the job. The F&B MOD works closely with Facility Managers on Duty to coordinate staff schedules and provide ongoing training that promotes employee growth and accountability.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years experience in food and beverage management or related hospitality leadership role
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must hold or be able to obtain Wisconsin responsible beverage server certification
  • Basic proficiency with POS systems and cash handling
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage staff and make decisions under pressure
  • Commitment to maintaining food safety and sanitation standards
  • Willingness to complete ServSafe or equivalent certification if not already certified

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage, restaurant, bar, or hospitality leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold staff accountable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service
  • Experience managing cash handling, POS systems, and operational reporting
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills during high-pressure periods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must meet Wisconsin requirements for alcohol service (responsible beverage server training or ability to obtain)
  • ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • Previous experience overseeing multiple service outlets preferred
  • Familiarity with Toast POS or similar systems
  • Experience collaborating in shared leadership environments

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily staffing and scheduling for all food and beverage locations including Babes at Vitense restaurant, Odie's Bar, Caddysnacks, and the Golf Range
  • Maintain ongoing communication about who is working in each area during the shift
  • Collaborate with Facility Managers on Duty to adjust staffing levels during slower periods
  • Conduct check-ins with team members to provide coaching, support, and accountability
  • Assist with tasks during high-volume times such as restocking, running food, or working behind the bar
  • Lead and assist with the opening and closing of all food and beverage areas
  • Support end-of-shift responsibilities including drawer counts and cash handling accuracy
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Toast POS and troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain in-depth menu knowledge and ensure menu accuracy
  • Monitor food wait times, quality, and presentation to meet company standards
  • Serve as a point of contact for guest concerns and provide professional resolutions
  • Write and submit detailed shift reports documenting operations, staffing, and guest incidents
  • Attend management meetings to discuss operations, staffing, and financial performance
