Job Description

HEI Hotels and Resorts manages an unparalleled portfolio of leading full-service branded hotels as well as luxury and lifestyle independent hotels across the United States. As experts in the upper-upscale, luxury, and premium select-service hotel sectors, HEI operates in urban, super-suburban, and destination locations, providing guests with exceptional hospitality experiences. The company places a high value on its people, recognizing that its success stems directly from the dedication and talent of its associates. HEI commits to offering its employees competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and industry-leading tools, training, and support to help them excel in their roles. They foster a workplace culture where associates feel valued and empowered, with a strong focus on inclusion and diversity. Veterans and individuals with military experience are especially encouraged to apply, reflecting HEI's respect and support for those who have served.

The Food and Beverage Manager-in-Training (F&B MIT) Program at HEI is a fast-track career development opportunity designed for recent college graduates who aspire to build a career within the hotel industry. This 12-month immersive program guides participants through all aspects of the Food and Beverage discipline, spanning various departments and operational areas within HEI's portfolio. The program's objective is to equip trainees with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare them for a long-term leadership role at HEI Hotels and Resorts. Throughout the program, trainees gain firsthand experience by shadowing management and operational leaders in hotel outlets, banquet services, and culinary departments. They rotate through shifts in multiple roles to understand operational dynamics and customer service expectations fully.

In addition to learning the technical and operational facets, trainees actively participate in department and leadership meetings to develop their leadership and communication skills. They become proficient in essential hotel management systems such as the Property Management System (PMS) and develop skills in labor management to efficiently schedule and control costs. The role also emphasizes maintaining high standards in customer service, adhering to food safety and operational policies, and fostering a positive guest experience. Ideal candidates for the F&B MIT Program are hospitality students or recent graduates, adaptable, communicative, and eager to start a career in one of the most dynamic sectors of the hospitality industry. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $25.00, although it is not tipped or eligible for discretionary bonuses. HEI provides an extensive benefits package aimed at supporting the physical, mental, and financial well-being of its employees, including medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with matching contributions, paid time off, and other valuable perks.

Joining HEI Hotels and Resorts as a Food and Beverage Manager-in-Training offers a unique opportunity to develop industry expertise, leadership capabilities, and a rewarding career path fostered by a company that genuinely invests in its associates' growth and success.
