Job Description

HEI Hotels & Resorts is a leading hospitality management company overseeing a diverse portfolio of full-service branded hotels, as well as luxury and lifestyle independent hotels throughout the United States. Specializing in upper-upscale, luxury, and premium select-service hotels, HEI operates in urban, super-suburban, and destination markets. The cornerstone of HEI's success is its dedicated team, comprised of individuals who bring passion, expertise, and commitment to their roles. The company is known for investing heavily in its workforce through competitive compensation packages, comprehensive benefits, and extensive training and support programs which empower associates to achieve excellence and advance their careers within the hospitality industry. HEI values diversity and is particularly proud to welcome candidates with U.S. military backgrounds, reflecting its inclusive culture emphasized under the company’s core value system known as "HEI Loves." This culture promotes career development opportunities, generous paid time off (PTO), flexible scheduling initiatives, and cross-brand mobility options allowing employees to grow professionally in various locations and roles across the organization.

The Food and Beverage Manager-in-Training (MIT) program at HEI Hotels & Resorts presents a unique and fast-tracked career development opportunity designed specifically for recent college graduates with a passion for hospitality. This comprehensive 12-month rotational program is structured to immerse participants fully into all facets of the Food and Beverage discipline, building solid foundational knowledge and practical experience needed for a successful long-term career with HEI. Throughout the program, participants will engage in hands-on training and rotations across multiple food and beverage outlets and departments within hotel properties. These rotations include vital exposure to outlets such as restaurants and bars, banquet services, and culinary operations, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of food and beverage management.

During the program, the Food and Beverage MITs will shadow experienced leaders to gain insights into operational standards, guest service excellence, staff coordination, and business financials. They will be expected to develop proficiency in the use of property management systems (PMS) and labor management tools to schedule staff effectively and control labor costs. Participating MITs will play an active role in daily operations, including interacting directly with guests to ensure high levels of satisfaction and quality, resolving any emerging service issues promptly, and adhering strictly to established food and beverage standard operating procedures and policies. In addition to hands-on duties, the program includes regular attendance at department and leadership meetings, fostering leadership skills and broader organizational understanding. The role demands consistency, reliability, and an eagerness to learn, setting MITs up for a successful trajectory within HEI’s expansive network of hotels.

This is a non-tipped, hourly paid opportunity offering a salary range of $17.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and location. While not eligible for discretionary performance bonuses, this role provides a valuable entry point into the hospitality industry with a reputable and growth-oriented company. HEI supports its employees with extensive wellness and benefits programs, ensuring physical, mental, and financial health. Comprehensive insurance coverage, including medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, disability plans, and pet insurance, is provided to eligible employees. HEI also offers vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay, alongside retirement savings plans with company matching contributions. Additional benefits include voluntary daily pay access, corporate discounts, and flexible work arrangements. Overall, the Food and Beverage Manager-in-Training program is an excellent avenue for aspiring hospitality professionals to launch their careers and grow within a dynamic and supportive environment.
