Job Description

NCBC Gulfport is a key military installation that supports a variety of recreational and social programs designed to improve the quality of life for the service members and their families. The base operates multiple facilities geared toward providing leisure and community engagement opportunities, including dining and entertainment amenities. These efforts aim to foster camaraderie, relaxation, and well-being among personnel in a secure and supportive environment.

The position available at NCBC Gulfport is focused on the administration, operation, and maintenance of social and recreational facilities. Specifically, the role involves overseeing both the Food and Beverage program and the Movie Program at two prominent community locations: Reel Roast and Seabee Cinema. The successful candidate will ensure that essential and non-essential meals and refreshments are efficiently provided while maintaining high standards of service. The individual will also be responsible for managing the Category C movie program, coordinating scheduling, and ensuring facility equipment and resources are optimized for patron enjoyment.

This role requires an individual with comprehensive knowledge of the operational management of social and recreational programs and the business practices necessary to ensure smooth functionality. Significant emphasis is placed on budgetary control to ensure expenditures adhere to funding limitations and cost-control procedures. The position involves developing directives, instructions, and protocols to enhance administration and effectively utilize resources. An understanding of accounting procedures, cost controls, and fund traceability is essential to maintaining financial accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

Beyond the technical and financial acumen, the position demands leadership capabilities to supervise program operations directly. The candidate must be adept at conducting surveys and audits to identify any deficiencies in the food, beverage, and movie services and to recommend corrective measures promptly. This leadership ensures that the facilities deliver quality experiences aligned with community expectations and regulatory guidelines. The job also includes coordination with other organizational activities to optimize scheduling and resource allocation.

There is no positive education requirement for this role; however, candidates must demonstrate a sufficient level of experience and knowledge related to the job's responsibilities. The employment type is categorized as 'Other.' Applicants must be meticulous in their application submissions, providing detailed information about their experience and KSAs to facilitate accurate evaluation. Additionally, candidates will undergo a background check and participate in federally mandated employment verification processes. This opportunity is well-suited for professionals interested in combining hospitality management, recreational program oversight, and fiscal responsibility within a federal employment context.
