The Food & Beverage Manager role at Desert Willow Golf Resort is a full-time leadership position that plays a critical role in the success of the resort’s front-of-house operations. Reporting directly to the Food & Beverage Director, the manager is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage venues including the restaurant, bar, banquet, catering services, beverage carts, snack bars, patios, and special events. This position requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about mentoring a dedicated service team and committed to operational excellence. You will be instrumental in creating seamless service experiences that not only meet but exceed guest expectations while maintaining strong financial performance across the department.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing banquet event orders, coordinating staffing schedules, ensuring cleanliness and presentation standards, overseeing purchasing and inventory management, and supporting marketing and promotional initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction and drive revenue. Leading by example, the Food & Beverage Manager fosters a positive work culture by recruiting, training, and developing team members and supporting ongoing service development programs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum five years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience
- Proven budget and labor cost management skills
- Strong team leadership and coaching abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- College degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum five years progressive food and beverage leadership experience preferably in golf, resort, hospitality, hotel, or private club environments
- Proven success managing budgets, labor costs, inventory, financial reporting, and departmental operations
- Experience leading, motivating, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in fast-paced environments
- Flexible schedule with availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, and special events

Job Duties
- Lead daily operations of all front-of-house food and beverage venues including restaurant, bar, banquet, catering, beverage cart, snack bar, patio, and special events
- Develop staffing schedules balancing guest service with labor efficiency
- Review Banquet Event Orders daily to coordinate staffing, setups, equipment, décor, and event execution
- Ensure cleanliness, presentation, safety, and hospitality standards across dining, banquet, bar, storage, and service areas
- Assist with purchasing, receiving, inventory management, cost control, and point-of-sale reporting
- Oversee timely execution of daily operations, tournaments, weddings, banquets, and special events
- Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and special events to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue
- Recruit, hire, train, coach, mentor, and develop team members fostering positive and accountable workplace culture
- Lead pre-shift meetings, departmental training, and service development programs
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, responsible alcohol service, company policies, and all applicable laws
- Prepare operational reports, payroll, inventory, budgets, and financial analyses
- Perform additional assigned responsibilities
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
