Job Description

Ascent Hospitality is a distinguished hospitality company with an extensive portfolio of hotels and a strong pipeline of new properties and acquisitions. Unlike companies focused solely on numbers, Ascent Hospitality places a strong emphasis on people, which remains the foundation of its culture and operations. The company is committed to providing a memorable experience not only for its guests but also for its team members, cultivating a collaborative and supportive work environment. At Ascent Hospitality, the culture encourages teamwork, innovation, and a unified purpose among all employees, especially within its leadership ranks. The company is dedicated to hiring accomplished individuals who possess a passion for service, strong communication skills to understand and meet the needs of others, and a proactive approach towards challenges and change. By joining Ascent Hospitality, employees become a part of a growing, dynamic, and caring hospitality family that values integrity, professionalism, and respect.

The Food and Beverage Manager role at Ascent Hospitality is specifically designed for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader. This position demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing food and beverage operations within a guest-focused environment. The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for leading the food and beverage service staff across various facilities, including restaurants, lounges, bars, and banquets. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring that every guest receives the highest level of service, by overseeing all operational aspects and service staff during business hours. Maintaining a clean and safe environment is also paramount, alongside meeting all financial targets related to sales and expenses.

In this role, the Food and Beverage Manager will manage service aspects of all assigned food and beverage areas and events, ensuring proper room preparation and readiness for every event or daily operation. The position involves hiring, managing, and training staff, maintaining schedules, and ensuring employees adhere to company standards, including uniform and appearance policies. The Food and Beverage Manager also collaborates with kitchen staff, coordinates pre-shift meetings, supervises service performance, and handles disciplinary actions if necessary. Additionally, this role includes conducting inventories, opening and closing operations, managing costs, and maximizing sales through creative marketing and up-selling techniques.

Success in this position requires a deep familiarity with food safety, sanitation, alcohol beverage control policies, and the legal restrictions surrounding alcohol service. The Food and Beverage Manager works closely with the Executive Chef to support menu creation and pricing strategies, ensuring a pleasant and consistent dining experience. Collaboration with other departments is essential to ensure adequate staffing levels for events, uphold company standards, and maintain guest satisfaction. This leadership role also entails resolving guest inquiries and concerns, implementing service improvements, and occasionally acting as the Manager on Duty.

Ascent Hospitality offers a competitive salary and an attractive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401k with employer matching, paid time off, uniforms, and access to a team member hotel discount program. These benefits reflect the company’s commitment to supporting the well-being and professional growth of its team members.
