The Food & Beverage Manager role at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain is pivotal to the resort's ongoing success. This position is responsible for overseeing the management of the Food & Beverage operations and staff, ensuring that the highest standards of guest service, food quality, cleanliness, and professionalism are consistently upheld. As a hands-on leader, the Food & Beverage Manager actively participates in training, scheduling, motivating, and developing the service staff to deliver an exceptional dining experience. The role requires a proactive approach to guest interactions, ensuring that each visitor is greeted warmly and served promptly with professionalism. It also involves close collaboration with the culinary team to coordinate new menus and seasonal promotions aligned with the resort's standards and special events. This is a dynamic leadership position that demands excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere while managing multiple outlets including the restaurant, bar, room service, poolside service, private events, and catering.

The Food & Beverage Manager is expected to demonstrate outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests, vendors, coworkers, and management. This role involves monitoring facility conditions and service areas to ensure they remain attractive and welcoming at all times and requires a commitment to continual improvement and guest satisfaction. Supporting team members during high-volume service and emergency situations is a key component, demanding adaptability and resilience. Moreover, the manager is responsible for scheduling staff to maintain proper coverage, handling supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, coaching, and conducting performance reviews, and embracing the resort’s culture and standards. Job Requirements

  • good wine knowledge
  • knowledgeable regarding food, beverage and room service techniques
  • strong working knowledge of Micros point of sale system, gratuity sheets, employee time edits programs, Opentable, Excel and cashier close-outs
  • familiarity with all restaurant positions and ability to fill in as needed
  • ability to lift and transport heavy trays up to 60 lbs on slippery surfaces
  • effective listening, speaking and writing skills in English
  • self-motivated, organized, fast and even-tempered
  • strong attention to detail
  • pleasant personality for guest interaction and teamwork
  • ability to deliver quality product under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or g.e.d.
  • current food handler’s card
  • current title iv liquor license
  • 3 to 5 years hospitality supervisor or management experience in an upscale full service establishment

Job Duties

  • coordinate with culinary department to implement new menus and seasonal promotions
  • maintain inventory and pars for restaurant and outlets
  • communicate ordering needs to Director of Outlets
  • work with Executive Chef and culinary staff to ensure standards of product presentation and service
  • taste new menu food and beverage products for consistency and staff knowledge
  • check all equipment is in working order and report dysfunctions
  • visually inspect facilities to ensure appealing appearance
  • respond to guest inquiries and coordinate special arrangements
  • interact with customers to determine needs, satisfaction and resolve conflicts
  • assist line employees in coordinating services
  • observe competitive resort and restaurant operations for marketing insights
  • perform and support line employees under high volume and emergency situations
  • maintain positive work atmosphere
  • perform additional duties as requested by Director of Outlets
  • carry out supervisory responsibilities as per organization policies
  • manage and assist in all areas of F&B as needed including room service, pool, private events and catering
  • schedule staff for proper coverage and timely service
  • exhibit control of all shifts and monitor standards, cleanliness and team performance
  • motivate staff, build morale and practice succession planning
  • hire, train, motivate and schedule staff according to business needs and service standards
  • train restaurant staff in fine cuisine service
  • conduct coaching, counseling and annual reviews
  • train staff on resort packages and micros system
  • embrace and practice resort standards
  • conduct interviews, personnel action forms, performance reviews, coaching and counseling
