The LifeCafe Leader role at Life Time represents a critical position focused on ensuring the growth and operational excellence of the LifeCafe locations within their clubs. This hands-on leadership role carries the responsibility of managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, overseeing inventory control, scheduling, payroll functions, and adherence to company policies and operational standards. The LifeCafe Leader works closely with their team, fostering a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-touch environment that exemplifies Life Time's core values and hospitality standards. They play a pivotal role in motivating and developing staff, while ensuring food quality and service delivery remain exceptional and consistent with Life Time’s premium dining experience.

This position requires a balance of business acumen, people leadership, and operational expertise. The leader will manage financial responsibilities such as profit and loss analysis, budgeting, and the implementation of cost-control measures that affect labor, food, and beverage expenses. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and applying strategic initiatives to improve operational metrics is essential. Through direct involvement in daily service within "The Zone," where they engage with team members side-by-side, the LifeCafe Leader encourages efficient execution of menu items, timely service, and attentive guest experiences.

The LifeCafe Leader must also ensure stringent safety, cleanliness, and security protocols are maintained, conducting regular inspections and coaching team members accordingly. Flexibility in scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is a requirement, as is the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism. Life Time values continuous improvement, and the LifeCafe Leader is expected to be systems-oriented and process-minded, capable of developing and implementing new systems that enhance operational efficiency and team culture.

This position typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with at least three years of leadership experience in a fast-paced food or hospitality setting. Certification requirements include ServSafe, Alcohol Safety (if applicable), and CPR/AED certification within the first 30 days of employment. Preferred qualifications include a college degree in culinary arts, business administration, or a related field, as well as prior culinary or chef experience and business ownership experience, all of which are advantageous for success in this role. Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced food or hospitality setting
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent
  • Alcohol safety certification if applicable
  • CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire
  • College degree in culinary, business, or related field preferred
  • Preferred chef/culinary experience
  • Prior or current business owner experience

Job Duties

  • Oversees front-of-house and back-of-house operations including inventory, scheduling, payroll, and adherence to operational policies
  • Works in "The Zone" alongside the team ensuring quality execution of menu items, accurate ticket times, and exceptional service
  • Manages business financials including profit and loss, budgeting, and cost controls for food, beverage, and labor
  • Hires, trains, develops, and motivates team members to build a high-performing, growth-minded team culture
  • Ensures compliance with all safety, cleanliness, and security protocols through regular inspection and coaching
