The Food & Beverage Manager role at Heritage Landings Golf & Country Club is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional passionate about hospitality and service excellence. This position offers a salary of $70,000 and involves overseeing front-of-house operations across multiple food and beverage outlets, including the Grille Room, Tiki Bar, special events, and member functions. Reporting directly to the Clubhouse Manager, the Food & Beverage Manager plays a vital leadership role responsible for driving exceptional member experiences and maintaining the highest standards of service that members expect. This manager will lead a team that delivers daily service, ensuring efficiency, teamwork, and a welcoming atmosphere.

This role also entails significant operational responsibilities, including managing beverage operations such as liquor, beer, and wine inventory, coordinating with vendors, and assisting with menu planning alongside the Executive Chef. Financial oversight is a critical aspect, involving monitoring labor costs, beverage expenses, and operational budgets to ensure the department meets financial objectives. The Food & Beverage Manager acts as the department head of the Tiki Bar and serves as the Clubhouse Manager's representative when they are off duty, ensuring smooth operations at all times.

Team leadership and development are central to this role. The manager will recruit, train, coach, and evaluate front-of-house staff, fostering a positive and professional culture focused on service excellence. They will conduct regular training and performance evaluations, emphasizing service standards, product knowledge, and member engagement. Additionally, the manager is responsible for scheduling and labor management to optimize service levels and control costs.

Event coordination is another key responsibility. The Food & Beverage Manager will oversee staffing and execution for club events such as tournaments, banquets, wine dinners, and other member functions, working closely with Lifestyle, Golf Operations, and Club leadership to deliver memorable experiences. Compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations is rigorously maintained, with the manager coordinating necessary training programs to ensure all staff adhere to these critical standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience in food and beverage within a hospitality setting
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience with inventory management and cost control
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations
  • Valid alcohol service certification preferred
  • Must be proactive and attentive to detail

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in private club, resort, hospitality, restaurant, or country club operations
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience managing beverage programs, inventory controls, and labor scheduling
  • Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications preferred
  • Ability to foster a positive team culture
  • Skilled in financial analysis and budgeting related to food and beverage operations
  • Proven success in staff training and development
  • Familiarity with POS systems and service standards

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily front-of-house operations for all food and beverage outlets
  • Provide visible floor leadership during service periods
  • Serve as department head for the Tiki Bar
  • Act as the Clubhouse Manager's representative when off duty
  • Ensure facilities, equipment, and service areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and professional condition
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, coach, and develop front-of-house team members
  • Create and manage weekly schedules
  • Conduct performance evaluations
  • Lead training sessions focused on service standards, product knowledge, POS procedures, and member engagement
  • Foster a positive team culture
  • Manage liquor, beer, wine, and beverage purchasing
  • Conduct monthly inventories
  • Monitor usage, variances, and beverage costs
  • Work closely with vendors and assist with menu pricing and beverage program development
  • Monitor labor costs, beverage costs, and operating expenses
  • Analyze business trends and staffing forecasts
  • Assist with budgeting and achieving departmental financial objectives
  • Partner with the Executive Chef on menu planning, promotions, and seasonal offerings
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, timing, and service standards consistently meet member expectations
  • Coordinate staffing and execution for club events, tournaments, banquets, wine dinners, member functions, and special events
  • Collaborate with Lifestyle, Golf Operations, and Club leadership
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations
  • Coordinate required HR, safety, and compliance training programs
