Job Description

The Pfister Hotel is an iconic establishment located in Milwaukee, known for its luxurious accommodations and exceptional hospitality. Established in 1893, The Pfister has maintained a prestigious reputation in the hotel industry, having been awarded the AAA Four Diamond status for 46 consecutive years. This remarkable achievement places The Pfister among an elite group of just 11 properties in North America to preserve this designation since the inception of the Diamond Rating program in 1976. The hotel has become synonymous with gracious service, impeccable style, and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences. As a premier luxury hotel in the Midwest, The Pfister combines historical elegance with modern amenities, offering guests an unparalleled stay and maintaining its status as a cornerstone of Milwaukee's hospitality scene.

The Food & Beverage Manager at The Pfister plays a vital leadership role in sustaining the high standards that define the hotel’s guest experiences. This full-time, salaried leadership position is responsible for overseeing the operations of the lobby lounge, which serves as a central point of social engagement and culinary enjoyment for visitors. The role demands a hospitality leader who thrives in a luxury hotel environment, with a sharp focus on delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. The Food & Beverage Manager is entrusted with managing staff scheduling, supervising café associates, and ensuring that every guest interaction reflects the hotel's values of grace and style. The position requires collaboration with the kitchen and service teams to maintain smooth café operations and adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards.

In addition to operational oversight, the Food & Beverage Manager is actively involved in menu planning and promotional activities designed to enhance guest satisfaction and elevate the hotel's brand. Strong financial management skills are essential, as the role includes controlling costs, labor, and expenses to meet budget targets. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to multi-task effectively, exhibit proven leadership qualities, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Flexibility in working evening shifts starting at 4pm, weekends, and holidays is necessary to meet the dynamic demands of the role.

Joining The Pfister means becoming part of a rich legacy where professional growth is supported and valued. The hotel offers various incentives such as complimentary well-balanced meals during shifts, room and service discounts at Marcus Hotels & Resorts and Historic Hotels of America properties, and perks including discounted parking, movie theater coupons, and access to recreational activities such as golf and skiing. Employees also benefit from early wage access, paid time off, flexible scheduling, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance packages available after 30 days of employment. With its commitment to excellence and career development opportunities, The Pfister stands out as an exceptional employer within the luxury hospitality sector.
