Hatley Pointe is a distinguished resort located in the scenic Mar Hill, North Carolina, renowned for its exceptional hospitality and unique blend of rustic charm combined with modern comfort. The resort offers a range of amenities focusing on delivering memorable guest experiences through various leisure and dining options. The Seasonal Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager role at Hatley Pointe is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all food and beverage outlets within the resort, including Smoke & Timber, bars, and any seasonal grab-and-go or event-based service areas. This full-time, on-site seasonal position operates during the winter season from November through March. The manager ensures the smooth daily operations of these outlets, upholding the highest standards of guest service and hospitality that Smoke & Timber is known for.

In this role, the manager leads and supports the seasonal front-of-house team, focusing on maintaining quality, operational efficiency, and profitability across all food and beverage locations. They work closely with culinary teams to coordinate menus and specials, ensuring the food offerings align with the resort’s quality standards. The position requires overseeing scheduling and labor management to optimize staffing in line with business demand, all while controlling costs and maintaining inventory effectively.

Additionally, the F&B Manager monitors food and beverage quality and service consistency by maintaining an active presence on the floor, ensuring guests receive exceptional service and their concerns are addressed promptly. They are also responsible for enforcing safety, sanitation, and compliance with company policies, state regulations, and alcohol service laws. The position involves assisting with special events, banquets, and seasonal promotions to enhance the resort’s guest experience.

This seasonal role demands flexibility, as it requires availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, fitting the peak operational calendar of the winter months. Preference is given to candidates with ServSafe and/or alcohol service certification and those with a proven track record in managing multiple food and beverage outlets in a resort or high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and a genuine dedication to guest service excellence. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of food and beverage management experience in a resort or multi-outlet environment
  • ability to work full-time during the winter seasonal period from November to March
  • availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service laws
  • capability to manage multiple teams and coordinate effectively across various F&B outlets

Job Qualifications

  • 2+ years of F&B management experience in a resort, multi-outlet, or high-volume environment
  • strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple outlets simultaneously
  • excellent guest service focus, communication, and conflict resolution abilities
  • proficiency in labor management, inventory control, and cost management
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ServSafe and/or alcohol service certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee and coordinate operations across all Smoke & Timber food and beverage outlets

  • respond to guest concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining Smoke & Timber's reputation for quality service
