The LifeCafe Leader plays a vital role within this dynamic, fast-paced hospitality setting. This leadership position is responsible for managing the overall performance and growth of a LifeCafe location, a unique blend of food service and health-centered community gathering place. As a hands-on leader, the LifeCafe Leader directs daily operations, ensuring both the front-of-house and back-of-house functions run smoothly and efficiently. This includes overseeing inventory management, staff scheduling, payroll, and operational policy compliance to maintain optimal business function and service quality.

This position demands a balance of strategic business management and team development. The LifeCafe Leader works directly alongside team members in "The Zone," an active part of the cafe where food is prepared and served, to ensure high-quality food preparation, timely service delivery, and exceptional customer experiences. Leadership extends beyond operational oversight to financial stewardship, where the LifeCafe Leader manages business financials including profit and loss statements, budgeting, and controlling costs for food, beverage, and labor.

Developing and motivating team members is a cornerstone of the role. The LifeCafe Leader is responsible for hiring, training, and cultivating a team culture that prioritizes high performance, growth, and alignment with Life Time’s values. Ensuring compliance with all safety, cleanliness, and security protocols is critical to maintaining the trusted reputation of Life Time. With a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays, the LifeCafe Leader role offers a full-time salaried position starting at $64,000 and potentially earning up to $88,000 annually based on experience and qualifications, with the opportunity for performance-based bonuses.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent knowledge of cost control, labor, reporting KPIs
  • Systems oriented and process minded with a strong ability to develop and implement new systems for continuous improvement
  • Ability to handle pressure well and maintain composure in any situation

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Three plus years of leadership experience in a fast-paced food or hospitality setting
  • ServSafe certification or equivalent
  • Alcohol safety certification if applicable
  • CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire
  • College degree in culinary, business, or related field preferred
  • Preferred chef/culinary experience
  • Prior or current business owner experience

Job Duties

  • Oversees front-of-house and back-of-house operations including inventory, scheduling, payroll, and adherence to operational policies
  • Works in "The Zone" alongside the team ensuring quality execution of menu items, accurate ticket times, and exceptional service
  • Manages business financials including P&L, budgeting, and cost controls for food, beverage, and labor
  • Hires, trains, develops, and motivates team members to build a high-performing, growth-minded team culture
  • Ensures compliance with all safety, cleanliness, and security protocols through regular inspection and coaching
