The current opportunity is with Shaner Hotel's brand-new Springhill Suites Jacksonville Beach Oceanfront, a premier 156 all-suite hotel situated directly on Jacksonville Beach, adjacent to the iconic Jacksonville Beach Fishing Pier. This hotel epitomizes the perfect blend of elegance and style with its custom design, breathtaking ocean views, and an oceanfront restaurant and bar that serves as a focal point for guests seeking a distinctive and upscale hospitality experience. The hotel offers a dynamic work environment where team members are part of a vibrant hospitality culture dedicated to providing exceptional guest service and operational excellence.
The Food and Beverage Manager role at this property is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing all food and beverage service outlets, catering services, and kitchen operations while liaising with the sales department to maximize profitability. This position demands strict adherence to state sanitation and health regulations, hotel standards, and franchise specifications, ensuring that food and beverage safety and quality meet or exceed expectations. The manager will be accountable for implementing and training staff on operational procedures and safety standards, managing budgets, and handling all guest-related issues with professionalism and care. Flexibility is crucial as the role requires working varied schedules including weekends, holidays, and different shifts to meet business needs effectively.
Moreover, this role involves developing ambitious financial goals aligned with overall property objectives, maintaining clear communication with the General Manager and department heads, and ensuring employee performance meets productivity and quality standards. Responsibilities also include managing the Food and Beverage Department's annual budget, handling guest complaints to guarantee satisfaction, and performing other assigned duties that contribute to the seamless operation of the department. The role calls for strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a solid understanding of food service equipment, production practices, and cost controls.
This position is ideal for a candidate with a minimum of five years of experience in food and beverage management, who holds or is working towards a degree in hospitality management, business, or culinary arts, and who possesses a safe food handling certification. The ability to read and interpret business and safety documents, familiarity with sales and marketing tools, and bilingual skills in English and Spanish are advantageous. Joining the Shaner Hotel Group team means becoming part of an organization that values excellence, innovation, and fostering a rewarding work environment in a stunning oceanfront setting that enhances both professional growth and personal fulfillment.
