The Food and Beverage Director at Hilton Des Moines Downtown plays a crucial role in leading and inspiring the hotel’s dynamic food and beverage team. This leadership position involves overseeing multiple outlets, including the Park Street Bar, Park Street Kitchen, In-Room Dining services, as well as the culinary and banquet operations. The Food and Beverage Director is responsible for planning and directing daily operations to ensure seamless service delivery, operational efficiency, and financial profitability. As a hands-on leader, the director collaborates closely with chefs and restaurant managers to create enticing menus tailored to the target markets, while maintaining rigorous control over food, beverage, and labor costs.
In this role, the director will implement effective scheduling and task delegation to optimize productivity and guest satisfaction in every food and beverage sub-department such as room service, restaurants, banquets, and kitchens. They will also develop and utilize critical management tools related to budgeting, forecasting, specifications, and job descriptions to support departmental goals. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in food and beverage management
- Experience managing multiple food and beverage outlets
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management
- Commitment to upholding company policies and regulatory standards
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- Proven experience in food and beverage management within a hotel or resort environment

Job Duties
- Plan and direct daily operations of the Food & Beverage department to fulfill operational needs
- Assign and delegate tasks effectively across various food and beverage sub-departments such as room service, restaurants, banquets, and kitchens
- Implement and monitor schedules to enhance profitability in all restaurants and bars
- Collaborate with chefs and restaurant managers to design attractive menus that cater to target markets
- Manage food, beverage, and labor costs while ensuring budget adherence and achieving financial goals
- Support departmental managers in reaching profit objectives and maintaining high standards in food quality, service, and cleanliness
- Regularly assess customer satisfaction and make recommendations for operational improvements whenever necessary
- Develop essential management tools related to budgeting, forecasting, specifications, and job descriptions
- Ensure all operations comply with Hilton Hotels Corporation policies and local regulations
